Letters from Participants
Mrs. Barbara Jones,
I don't know how to thank you enough for
the opportunity that you provided me with by allowing me to attend your camp.
The "Be The Best You"
Camp taught me more than I have ever learned, and made me realize how important
my family and education are. I met so many great people and made many new friendships.
I would just like to thank you for changing my outlook on life and touching
the lives of 250 girls. Your tremendous effort and work was greatly appreciated.
By going to the elementary school and nursing home, I found the true meaning
of happiness. I have always enjoyed working with special needs children at my
own school, but seeing those girl's faces and the smiles on the faces of the
girls at camp gave me a sense of peace that I have never felt before in my entire
life. I am already starting my own service projects at home and am enjoying
every minute of it. I am the captain of my cheerleading squad and have gotten
all of them to agree to visiting the nursing homes and hospitals with me. It
would be my dream to attend the camp again, but as a counselor. I saw the impact
the counselors had on their girls and would love to have that opportunity myself.
I will never forget the love and guidance that you have shown me. I love you
so much and thank you for loving me. I can't wait to be the "has been"
at my local Jr. Miss pageant and share my experiences with this camp. I
feel like I am capable of changing people's lives and that has been a dream
of mine since I was a child. Thank you again for everything. I promise I will
never forget all that you have taught me and will always strive to be a "keeper
of the flame."
With all my heart,
Cynthia
